Caren Palmer
Practice Manager
Caren joined BNE when we opened in 2001. As BNE has grown, Caren’s role has evolved into the management position she holds today. Caren received her BSc Degree in Urban Health Management from St John’s University, New York. She also worked at The Strang Preventive Medicine Institute, NYU and New York Hospital in similar management roles. Further study in Australia has led to Caren receiving a Grad.Dip. in Health Promotion (QUT).
Sharlene Bennett
Nurse Unit Manager
Sharlene joined BNE in 2010. Graduating nursing in 2003 with a goal and a passion to practise as a nurse within the “emergency setting”, Sharlene reached that goal in 2005, starting her emergency nursing journey at The Princess Alexandra Hospital. From 2010, dividing her time between public and private emergency nursing, a decision was made to move to a permanent position with BNE. The passion and commitment Sharlene provides as a strong patient advocate, and through the delivery of excellent nursing care, has seen her move from Registered Nurse to Clinical Nurse and to also become part of BNE’s management team as BNE Co-ordinator. Sharlene now leads BNE’s department as Nurse Unit Manager. Sharlene received her Bachelor of Nursing from Griffith University and is currently studying with USQ to complete her Master of Nursing in the speciality field of Leadership and Management.
